With a heavy heart, we share news of the passing of a dear friend and inspiration, Alec “Bunk” Wurth. We are honored to have known such a beautiful individual and to have been a part of his journey through the Goodwill Fitness & Technology Center and Assistive Technology Exchange Center. His contagious joy and unyielding determination will forever be remembered and serve as inspiration to all of us. This American flag painting he completed for us last year will hang in the Goodwill of Orange County offices in his honor always.

Goodwill of Orange County was proud to host its Third Annual Gala, benefitting our veterans’ services, fitness center, and assistive technology programs. Co-chairs Alaina Stamos-Talarico, Anthea Chade, and Dr. Jacqueline Dupont brought together nearly 500 attendees at the Ritz Carlton, Dana Point. John Stamos, Bob Saget, and Dave Coulier hosted the evening that featured a Grammy-award winning line-up of six entertainment legends. Most of all the mission and vision of the ninety-two year old organization was shared, especially in this video.

Bebe, a member of the Goodwill Fitness Center

Meet Bebe,
The Face of Independence.

In a split second, Bebe’s world changed forever. A devastating car accident left her with a brain injury. Determined to vigorously embrace life, Bebe took the bus several times a week to the Goodwill Fitness Center for classes in balance and strength-training. Her commitment has paid off with a move from her parents’ home to her own apartment, but she still relies on an access bus. Next goal — driving. Go Bebe!
