Santa Ana, Calif. – February 8, 2016 – Frank Talarico, Jr., President and CEO of Goodwill of Orange County, has been appointed as the newest member of the Goodwill Industries International (GII) Board of Directors. His nomination for the position was approved by the Goodwill’s Conference of Executives (COE) Executive Council today.

“Frank was an obvious choice for the Board of Directors,” said Jim Martin, President and CEO, Goodwill Industries of Lane and South Coast Counties & Goodwill Industries of Alaska, and Chair of the COE Nominating Committee. “The Committee selected Frank for his demonstrated leadership in building a strong Goodwill in Orange County and the respect he has garnered among peers. We are confident that the skills and talent he brings to Orange County’s Goodwill will serve the broader enterprise very well.”

The GII Board of Directors’ primary function is to provide good governance and strategic oversight to support GII in fulfilling the Goodwill Mission. Talarico, Jr. will serve a three-year term, effective June 2016.

As a member of the board, Talarico, Jr. will collaborate strategically with other members to monitor business trends, influence public policy and raise awareness of Goodwill’s mission to strengthen communities and eliminate barriers to work for people in need.

Additional duties will include contributing strategically to the work of the Board of Directors during three annual meetings, representing Goodwill in meetings and discussions with regulatory agencies and congressional committees, and applying business acumen to support the GII Board Finance and Audit Committees to ensure the organization acts in accordance with standard accounting principles and financial policies.

“I am truly honored to be recognized and selected as a member of the GII Board of Directors,” said Talarico, Jr. “I am looking forward to bringing some of the innovative ideas, retail strategies and programs we have successfully implemented here in Orange County to Goodwill organizations around the world.”

Talarico, Jr.’s appointment also includes a seat on the COE Executive Council. Last year, Talarico, Jr. was elected as Chair of the Council of California Goodwill Industries, the largest association of Goodwill organizations in the country.
