Now Open at Irvine United Congregational Church, Accepting Donations Fridays & Saturdays
IRVINE, Calif. – April 10, 2024 – Goodwill of Orange County has opened a new Donation Center in Irvine. Located in the parking area of Irvine United Congregational Church, the attended donation site is now open and accepting gently used goods on Fridays and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The new site is the latest step in Goodwill OC’s expansion plan to Double Its Impact & Footprint across Orange County over the next ten years.
On Friday, April 5, a ribbon cutting celebration marked the official opening of the Irvine Donation Center and was attended by Irvine Vice Mayor Larry Agran, Greater Irvine Chamber of Commerce Chair Lisa Thomas, Irvine United Congregational Church Senior Pastor Rev. Dr. Sarah Halverson-Cano, members of the Goodwill OC Board of Directors, and several community members.
“Donations are the lifeblood of our organization; they provide the fuel for our mission work to connect people with meaningful career opportunities,” said Nicole Suydam, President and CEO, Goodwill of Orange County. “We are proud to be back in the city of Irvine and look forward to building deeper relationships with the many generous donors in the community.”
As a nonprofit employment social enterprise, donations continue to be the cornerstone for the organization and its ability to serve 25,000+ individuals annually through comprehensive workforce development programs.
Up next, Goodwill OC will open its 25th store location in Fountain Valley on April 26. This new store will feature an all-new boutique concept within the larger store and many modern design elements to create an elevated secondhand shopping experience.
