Now Open at Sycamore Plaza Behind the Stater Bros. Markets, Accepting Donations Daily
LAKE FOREST, Calif. – May 20, 2024 – Goodwill of Orange County has opened a new Donation Center in Lake Forest. Located in Sycamore Plaza at the corner of Trabuco Rd. and El Toro Rd. behind the Stater Bros. Markets, the attended donation site is now open and accepting gently used goods daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The new site is the latest step in Goodwill OC’s expansion plan to Double Its Impact & Footprint across Orange County over the next ten years.
On Friday, May 17, a ribbon cutting celebration marked the official opening of the Donation Center and was attended by Lake Forest City Councilmember Robert Pequeño, Lake Forest Assistant City Manager Keith Neves, the office of Congresswoman Young Kim, the Lake Forest Chamber of Commerce, and several community members.
“Donations are the lifeblood of our organization; they provide the fuel for our mission work to connect people with meaningful career opportunities,” said Nicole Suydam, President and CEO, Goodwill of Orange County. “We are proud to reestablish this donation site here in Lake Forest and give the many generous donors in the community and surrounding areas another easy location to make their donations.”
As a nonprofit employment social enterprise, donations continue to be the cornerstone for the organization and its ability to serve 25,000+ individuals annually through comprehensive workforce development programs.
The donation center opening follows on the heels of two recent grand openings for the organization, its 25th thrift store location in Fountain Valley that opened on April 26 and a donation site in Irvine located at Irvine United Congregational Church that opened April 5.
